expatriate death sentenced in Qatar

Two foreigner workers, accused of killing a Qatari Woman in 2012, punished death sentences confirmed by Supreme Court Doha. The Qatar’s lower courts had found them guilty of the crime. But the third accused, who had punished for life imprisonment, had his sentence reduced to 15 years. Published on qatarliving.com

The Supreme Court upheld the death sentence after it received sound evidence to prove the involvement of the first and second accused.
The prosecution was able to prove that the trio killed the old lady while trying to burgle her house in the Salata Jadeed area.

Sources said the trio used to work at a construction site near the victim’s house. The old lady, who used to occasionally feed the men, saw them breaking and entering the house on the fateful night.

The old lady’s housemaid was the case’s soul witness. She provided clues to the police, which led to their arrest, and later identified them.

The Court of Appeals delivered its verdict on May 30, 2016, and the convicts’ lawyer moved the Supreme Court within the stipulated two-month period.
